«German classical philosophy and university philosophy.
To the 300th anniversary of the birth of Immanuel Kant
and the 190th anniversary of the death of Johann Baptist Schad»
(June 20-21, 2024)

On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Immanuel Kant (22.04.1724–12.02.1804) and the 190th anniversary of the death of Johann Baptist Schad (20.11.1758–13.01.1834), the Faculty of Philosophy of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University conducts the International scientific conference "German classical philosophy and university philosophy".

Immanuel Kant, who taught in 1755–1797 at the University of Königsberg, laid the foundations of German classical philosophy. J. B. Schad taught in 1799–1804 at the University of Jena together with J. G. Fichte, F. W. J. Schelling, F. Schlegel, G. W. F. Hegel and other representatives of German classical philosophy. In 1804–1816, J. B. Shad was professor of theoretical and practical philosophy at Kharkiv University, where he significantly influenced the formation of university philosophy and founded his philosophical school.

Specialists who research the problems of German classical philosophy are invited to participate in the work of the international scientific conference, in particular in the following areas:

• War and peace in German classical philosophy;
• German classical philosophy: from the beginning to the present;
• Theoretical philosophy within the framework of German classical philosophy;
• Practical philosophy within the framework of German classical philosophy;
• Theological and religious issues in German classical philosophy;
• German classical philosophy and university philosophy in Ukraine;
• «Kharkiv Philosophical School of J. B. Schad».

Format of the conference: it is planned to hold in a mixed format (offline and online).

Working languages of the conference: Ukrainian, German, English.

Publication of a collection of materials is planned. Theses can be submitted in Ukrainian, German, English.

1. The text of the Theses
File type "doc". The name of the file should correspond to the last name of the speaker in Latin (for example, savchenko_tezy). The volume of theses materials - from 2 to 5 pages of A4 format, font - Times New Roman; line spacing – 1.0; font size – 12. The list of used sources is given after the text. The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the presented facts, quotations and references, as well as for the observance of copyright.
