Scientific Schools:

Kharkiv University School of Theoretical and Practical Philosophy

Foundation year: 1804.

Founder: Professor Johann Baptist Schad.

In different years the school is headed and represented by distinguished scholars: Professors A. I. Dudrovych, F. O. Zelenogorskyi, P. E. Leykfeld, S. Yu. Semkovskyi, D. Kh. Ostryanyn, Yu. F. Bukhalov, O. O. Yakuba, O. F. Plakhotnyi.

Since 1991 the school is headed by Professor, Doctor of Sciences in Philosophy, Merited Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine Oleksandr Mamalui.

Currently, the school has 12 Doctors of Sciences and 14 PhDs in Philosophy. Professor A. A. Mamalui has prepared seven doctors of sciences and 28 PhDs in Philosophy.

The school is headed by Professor, Doctor of Sciences in Philosophy, Academician of the Academy of Political Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Computer Sciences I. Z. Tsekhmistro, Head of the Department of Theory of Culture and Philosophy of Science (V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University).

The school has five doctors of sciences and nine PhDs in Philosophy. It has prepared eleven doctors of sciences and 46 PhDs in Philosophy.
